Growing the Hot Wheels Collection in 2024

Finally got around to posting some pictures of my latest Hot Wheels, some are from a few months ago and some are newer.

 

I was so happy to see this casting of the '82 Cadillac Seville re-released.  Love the two tone paint job.  

I picked up this Mighty K just because. But I'm not fond of the wheel choice on this model.

This 67 Chevy C10 pickup looks cool in this turquoise colour.

The recoloured dark metallic blue paint job did it for me on this Ford GT40.

Another sweet EV for my collection ... the Audi RS E-tron GT.

Yet another Mighty K, this one in a tan colour.

I picked up this black 91 Mazda Mx-5 Miata for my JDM collection.

Hot Wheels Bone Shaker

 

I really think that Hot Wheels knocked it out of the park with the Bone Shaker casting! I can't remember when I acquired this particular model.  According to the Hot Weels wiki, mine is the retooled version that was released in 2014.    The paint is metalflake black with 5 spoke wheels and it has orange and red flames on the side.  The flames are the best part of this car for sure.

Johnny Lightning 1969 AMC AMX!

 

Today, I'm sharing one of my favourite Johnny Lightning castings, it's the 1969 AMC AMX.  This model features a bright yellow paint job with black racing stripes running down the centre of the vehicle.

There's some nice detailing on the body such as door handles and badging.  The tail lights look awesome as well.  This casting comes with an opening hood.

My version is from the Forever 64 series, Release 16.  I didn't like the original rims so I replaced them with these blacked out wheels with chromed accent ring.

Johnny Lightning 1969 Ford Torino Talledega

The Johnny Lightning Retro Release series from 2006 consisted of 4 cars:  a Chevy Camaro convertible, an Olds Cutlass, a Pontiac GTO and a Ford Torino Talledega, which is the featured car of today's blog post.

This large 2 door fastback coupe is long and lean.  It has an opening matte black hood that exposes the car's power plant.  Despite it's racing heritage, the production vehicle's engine was limited to a displacement of 305 cubic inches.  Racing models were fitted with the FE 427 engine.

JL did an excellent job on this casting, especially with the detailing on the front and rear of the car.  Side marker lights, license plate, door handles and Ford lettering on the hood round out the exquisite details of the Talledega.  The paint job is a stunning dark cherry red. 

Although it lacks rubber tires, the chrome spoke rims nicely complement the plastic wheels on this model.
